Sustainable Green Technologies (SGT)
is a privately-held company located in San Diego, California. SGT develops highly integrated, closed cycle decentralized energy systems. Our closed cycle bio-energy systems turn renewable biomass waste streams, such as biodiesel or brewery waste, into environmentally friendly bio-hydrogen energy and algae oils usable for bio-fuel production. The research at SGT has developed several bio-hydrogen energy prototypes (H2NECXT System™). Our prototypes convert renewable biomass waste streams, such as bio-diesel refinery waste, brewery waste, starches, and office paper waste, into bio-hydrogen energy using patent-pending microbes and processes. Our ongoing research and development activities successfully implemented micro- and nano- materials into our bio-reactor platforms resulting in the highest reported bio-hydrogen production rates. We successfully developed methods which allow us to completely utilize the by-products of our bio-hydrogen process to generate algae oils for biodiesel fuel production and generation of other revenue streams. SGT scientists discovered the long sought after Lipid Trigger in algae that allows us to increase algae oil production without stunting algae growth. Our LipiTrigger™ Technology increases the algae oil content from 15 to more than 50 percent by dry weight. We recently filed several patents to secure our technologies and SGT is continually expanding its intellectual property to utilize diverse waste streams as inexpensive feedstock.
Closed Cycle Model
Our innovative closed cycle model uses the by-products from the H2NECXT System™ to feed a coupled algae photobioreactor for production of algae biomass and algae oils using our proprietary LipiTrigger™ Technology. This algal oil is then used to produce biodiesel fuel. The biodiesel refinery waste is converted into bio-hydrogen energy by the H2NECXT System™, which closes the cycle. All generated waste products of our closed cycle production system are fully biodegradable. This revolutionary business concept offers a sustainable solution to the world’s current dependency on limited fossil energy while minimizing the impact on the environment.
